Works on Canvas
Elemental Devices:
To define these paintings I draw on a perspective that has been developing throughout my life. A vision, I find difficult to articulate. While, I have always been fascinated by nature, I am more so by the forces that pattern nature to its cohesive ends.
Rhythmic, primordial, ethereal, a constant orphic fire of becoming. These works become, intuitively unfolding, setting down color and form to spark that in us to question. The underlying foundation of these works stand to hold up the four elements, unraveling, to expose the fifth. (February 1995)
About these works:
The 12 paintings presented here are part of a series created in the mid-90's. Following this series I explored mixed abstract works on paper and in the late 90's computer generated works. As the technology of printing advanced it was possible to print these works in high and lasting quality. Primarily using the program Photoshop as my tool to creativity, the brush and canvas was put aside for the kilobytes and ink of cutting edge tech.
Note:
Regrettably, the images presented here were scanned in the mid 90's, are low resolution, and not at all up to capabilities of todays high res displays.
